Clotrizole is a synthetic pyrrole antifungal agent with inhibitory effect on various pathogenic fungi and bactericidal effect at high concentrations. By interfering with the activity of cytochrome P450, clotrizole inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol and other sterols. Damage fungal cell membrane and change its permeability, leading to the loss of important substances in the cell; It can also inhibit the biosynthesis of triglycerides and phospholipids. This product can also inhibit the activity of oxidative and peroxidase, cause excessive accumulation of peroxide in cells, and cause degeneration and necrosis of fungal subcellular structure. Clotrizole has broad spectrum antifungal activity, has good antibacterial effect on tinea epidermidis, trichophyte, aspergillus, pigmentococcus, cryptococcus and candida, and has certain antibacterial activity on sporotrichum schenkii, bacillus dermatitis, coccidioides macrosporium and histoplasma.

Clotrimazole in vivo and in vitro of candida, cryptococcus, music bacterium and algae bacteria, skin tinea bacteria have good antibacterial effect, the curative effect of shallow to skin fungal disease similar to griseofulvin, curative effect of deep fungus disease is similar to amphotericin B, for visceral pathogenic fungi such as candida albicans, cryptococcus neoformans, ball spore bacteria and organizing the cytoplasm bacteria, etc., have a good role, dialogue candida role better than nystatin. The fungus is not easy to develop resistance to this product. For severe deep fungal infection, amphotericin B is recommended. External use can also be used to treat superficial fungal infections, such as crowns ringworm and domestic animal body ringworm, hair ringworm. It's not effective for tinea capitis. Clotrizole is also effective against certain gram-positive bacteria and vaginal trichomoniasis.
