APPLICATION

It is commonly used as a pesticide against slugs, snails, and other gastropods. It is the cyclic tetramer of acetaldehyde.

CONTROL OBJECT

Rice snails, vegetables, cotton, and tobacco are snails, slugs, and other molluscs.

Product nameMetacetaldehyde,  2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl-1, 3,5,7-tetraoxacyclooctane, Acetaldehyde tetramer
CAS: 108-62-3
Molecular weight: 176.21
Appearance:White needle crystal
Density:1.27
Molecular formula: C8H16O4

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Tetraacetaldehyde is a highly selective molluscicide. 6% Mita, the appearance of light blue, water softening, a special fragrance, there is a strong attraction. When the snail is attracted by the attractant and feeds or comes into contact with the medicament, a large amount of acetylcholinesterase is released from the snail, destroying the special mucus in the snail, causing the screw to rapidly dehydrate, nerve paralysis, and secrete mucus due to the loss of a large amount of body fluids. And cells are destroyed, causing snails, cockroaches, etc. to die in a short time. The main ingredients are acetaldehyde, carbaryl, and bait.

Low toxicity to humans and livestock, low toxicity to fish, land and aquatic non-target organisms, and low toxicity to silkworms.

PRECAUTIONS

1. In case of low temperature (below 1.5°C) or high temperature (above 35°C) due to weak snail's activity, the control effect is affected.

2. Do not trample on the ground after spraying. In case of heavy rain, the drug particles will be washed into the water by rain and will affect the efficacy.

3. After using this pesticide, do not trample in Tanaka.

Folding transport considerations

The strength of sacks, plastic woven bags and composite plastic woven bags used for packaging during railway transportation shall meet the requirements of national standards. Before shipping, check whether the packaging container is complete and sealed. During transportation, ensure that the container does not leak, does not collapse, does not fall, and is not damaged. It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with acids, oxidants, foods and food additives. Transportation vehicles should be equipped with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Avoid exposure, rain, and high temperature during transportation. The tank (tank) used for transportation shall have a grounding chain, and a hole partition may be arranged in the tank to reduce the static electricity generated by the vibration. Stopovers should stay away from fire and heat sources. During road transport, follow the prescribed route. Do not stay in residential areas or densely populated areas.

Fold storage considerations

Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Prevent direct sunlight. The temperature should not exceed 30°C. Package sealed. Should be stored separately from oxidants and food chemicals and avoid mixing. The pesticide should be stored away from food, beverages, and do not allow children and livestock to enter the storage area. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Do not use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks. Storage areas should be equipped with suitable materials for containment and leakage. Do not use solder iron packaging.

Folding precautions

Closed operation, local exhaust. Prevent dust from being released into the workshop air. Operators must be specially trained to strictly observe the operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter-type dust masks, wear safety glasses, wear anti-perspirant infiltration work clothes, and wear latex gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources and smoking is prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation systems and equipment. Avoid dust. Avoid contact with oxidants. Equipped with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and emergency response equipment. Empty containers may be harmful residues.
