BBIC-Bus Bar Insulation Connection Cover up to 40.5kV


Bus bar insulation connection cover "UE-BBIC", A wide range of preformed covers are available for most of
substation equipment connections. Customised covers can be made simply and economically by forming our
insulation materials.

Installation is easy with no need to disconnect bus bars. Such covers are held in place with UV- stabilized
plastic nuts and bolts, latches or cable ties, and be easily removed for maintenance. Suitable for applications
up to 40.5kV.

Substation equipment is vulnerable to flashovers caused by accidental bridging of phases, or phase to earth.
Usually made by birds, animals, vegetation or airborne debris, flashovers can be very expensive in terms of
damage to equipment, reduced reliability. Most of event of this nature can be prevented by covering the strategically
vulnerable bare metalwork.

Insulation for energized bus components and connections shall consist of tubing, tape, and other devices
that are factory-engineered to meet applicable switchgear performance requirements. UE bus bar connection
covers "BBIC" provide high dielectric strength, adequate thermal endurance at bus operating temperatures,
and tracking and erosion resistance.
