Pharmacological Action: Bacteriostasis----Poplar flower has a powerful bacteriostasis on Shigella dysenteriae, Escherichia coli, Diplococcus pneumoniae, Beta streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella typhi etc., and ethyl acetate extract from Plplar flower, has a more powerful bacteriostasis.
