1. Basic Introduction
This series of orthopedic external fixation splints adopts a delicate edging process, special medical grade silicone protection, ergonomic streamline design as well as soft elastic lining. Taking patients into full account, the product is capable of mitigating the pains of patients with fractures.
With permeability and comfort in mind, the splint employs a special inner lining cloth that also has a 3D structure, featuring high elasticity and air permeability. It is perfectly matched with the company's 3D reconfigurable board, thus not only avoiding the problem of uncomfortable wearing derived from the high hardness of organic polymer but also characteristic of strong air permeability.
This series of orthopedic external fixation splints are designed in line with ergonomics, with R&D contributions from seasoned experts on orthopedic clinical experience. The whole product is streamlined, and according to the requirement of "3 points for fixing and 6 aspects (length, width, thickness, firmness, temperature, and flexion)" for external fixation of fractures, it is properly concave and convex, firmly fixed, and has an open angle for convenient folding.
2. MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS
The thermo-sensitive shape memory material, independently developed by the company's R&D team, is made by combining the characteristics of organic polymer which can be repeatedly shaped. It employs advanced 3D braiding technology and is shaped like a honeycomb structure as a whole. As a unique product characteristic of 3D space in the industry of its kind, it currently tops the national list.
a. Solid
The 3D reconfigurable board can be flexible or rigid. It is soft between 60-120 °C, but hard and firm at normal room temperature. Based on the test of the authoritative third-party testing agency, the Shore hardness of the 3D reconfigurable board can reach 45-55D at room temperature (the Shore hardness of the safety helmet is75D). The hardness is not only in line with the requirements of medical orthopedic external fixation splint but also is conducive to the early functional recovery of patients with fractures. Furthermore, it is convenient to adjust and avoid osteofascial compartment syndrome in the event of swelling and detumescence of patients with fractures. Meanwhile, due to the braiding technology of the material, the product has good toughness and is not easy to break, thus avoiding the risk of breaking the product worn by patients.
b. Breathable
The 3D braiding technology effectively enhances the air permeability of the board. As tested by the authoritative third-party inspection agency, the porosity of the product is up to 72%, with the air permeability greatly outperforming that of the products of its kind on the market. The ultra-high porosity enables the board to keep the skin breathable during the close-fitting wearing process. The wearing part can fully contact the air after sweating, so that sweat can evaporate in time with the flow of air, thus maintaining the skin in a dry and comfortable state.
c. Permeable
The 3D reconfigurable board hardly shields X-rays. Under the irradiation of an X-ray machine, the healing of fracture can be directly observed, so patients can directly take X-ray films without removing the splint, which is convenient for doctors to diagnose the recovery of patients and narrows down the possibility of secondary injuries caused by splint removal.
The 3D reconfigurable board utilizes 3D braiding technology to effectively reduce the weight of products, making them lighter than those of its kind on the market. As compared to the traditional orthopedic splint, the weight of the orthopedic external fixation splint per unit size drops by 40%. The weight reduction eases the patient's load, thus making it easier to wear.
[INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE]- The appropriate splint model should be selected according to the patient's condition;
- Place the product in a 90°C incubator (heating package), in which it will be softened in 2-3 minutes;
- Place the softened splint on the skin, shape it according to the affected part, and decompress where there is apophysis;
- Use velcro or a medical bandage for auxiliary fixation after shaping. The hardness at normal temperature can be restored after solidifying for 3-5 minutes;
The whole process of external fixation can be completed in 10 minutes, thus boosting the work. And the patient doesn't have to take it off when getting X-rays text, because the material doesn't shield X-rays, making the test more convenient.
