These high speed single-mode 9/125um duplex fiber optic patch cables are terminated with LC/APC and LX5/APC fiber optic connectors on both ends (LCA-LX5A). Called Little Connectors or Local Connectors, these snap-in connectors are typically used for high density connections and are compatible with plug-and-play devices such as SFP modules and XFP transceivers.

LX.5 is a high performance connector. It offers the advantage of E-2000™ while needing half of the space and is therefore used in applications, where density is high.
