Application

Colistin Sulphate has also been used recently to treat ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and bacteremia caused by MDR bacteria, such as P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae and A. baumannii. Alhough the use of colistin is considered to be effective, other antibiotics are often used in combination with colistin.
 
It is mainly used to treat intestinal infections caused by Gram-negative bacilli (Escherichia coli, etc.), and is also effective for Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections (septicemia, urinary tract infections, burns or trauma wound infections).
