Product Description

Gamma amino butyric acid (GABA)

Other Name(s):

      L-aminobutyric acid (GABA); 4-aminobutyric acid; L-aminobutyric acid (4-aminobutyric acid); 4 (gamma) - aminobutyric acid (aminobutyric acid); Aminobutyric acid; Gamma aminobutyric acid; Butyric acid; L-aminobutyric acid.

OVERVIEW

    Aminobutyric acid( γ- Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the most important inhibitory transmitter in the central nervous system. Its abnormal level in the brain is related to a variety of neurological and mental diseases, such as epilepsy, anxiety, depression, pain, Alzheimer's disease and so on. The function of GABA is to reduce the activity of neurons and prevent nerve cells from overheating. Almost all kinds of convulsions are related to the decrease of GABA in the brain. Inhibition of GABA synthase (glutamate dehydroxylase) can reduce GABA synthesis or block the binding of GABA to receptor, which can induce convulsion. Conversely, inhibition of GABA degrading enzymes to reduce the degradation of GABA, increase the content of GABA, or administration of DZP drugs to strengthen the binding of GABA to receptors through allosteric regulation can prevent and treat convulsion. Therefore, GABA has anticonvulsant effect.

USES & EFFECTIVENESS

     γ- Aminobutyric acid is a strong neuroinhibitory amino acid. It has the physiological functions of sedation, hypnosis, anticonvulsion and lowering blood pressure. It is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which can inhibit animal activities and reduce energy consumption. Effects of aminobutyric acid on animal cells γ- Aminobutyric acid receptor, γ- The aminobutyric acid receptor is a chloride channel, γ- The inhibition or excitability of aminobutyric acid depends on the concentration of chloride ions inside and outside the cell membrane, γ- After the aminobutyric acid receptor is activated, it leads to the opening of chloride channel, which can increase the permeability of cell membrane to chloride ion, make chloride ion flow into nerve cells, cause cell membrane hyperpolarization, inhibit the activation of nerve cells, and reduce the amount of exercise of animals.
    1. Pharmaceutical intermediates. 4-aminobutyric acid can reduce blood lipid and is suitable for the treatment and prevention of various types of liver coma. It can treat polio and cerebral hemorrhage, and can be used as an antidote for gas poisoning. It is also used in biochemical research and organic synthesis.
    2. It can reduce blood and promote brain metabolism. It is used to treat various types of liver coma. It is also used for coma caused by stroke sequelae, cerebral arteriosclerosis, head trauma sequelae, uremia and gas poisoning.
    3. It is used for biochemical research and medically for the treatment of various diseases caused by hepatic coma and cerebrovascular disorders.
    4. The main inhibitory neurotransmitters in the brain; GABAA and GABAB receptor Stimulants; Increase Cl − conductivity.
