Adding betaine HCl in pig feed can increase the area of eye muscle, reduce the average thickness of pig backfat and improve the lean meat rate and carcass quality. Adding in chicken feed can improve the carcass quality and pectoral muscle quantity of broiler and reduce the deposition of abdominal muscle.

Betaine hydrochloride is a quaternary alkaloid, which can stimulate the sense of smell and taste of animals, promote animal feeding, improve the palatability and utilization of bait, increase feed intake and daily weight gain, and is the main ingredient of feed enticement.
