The YW-X3-B dual-polarized, fully coherent Doppler weather radar is equipped with a 4.5-meter diameter X-band radome. The function is to form a closed space around the radar antenna and place the working radar antenna in it. Protect the radar antenna system from the direct effects of the atmospheric environment. Due to the protection of the radome, the antenna system can be protected from wind, sand, rain, snow, and hail. This will greatly improve the working environment of the antenna, ensure the accuracy of the antenna surface, reduce the design power of the antenna driving device and reduce the rotation of the antenna Actual energy consumption, and avoid radar shutdown due to climate and environmental reasons. At the same time, the radome can also alleviate the influence of solar radiation, humidity, salt fog, etc. on the antenna system, so it also greatly simplifies and reduces the daily maintenance and repair work of the antenna system, and extends the service life.

2.1 Main electrical performance indicators

1) Working frequency: 9400±100MHz

2) Power transmission coefficient: whole cover ≥90%

3) Increased value of peak sidelobe level: ≤2dB

4) Beam pointing error: ≤0.05°

5)Beam broadening: ≤0.03°

6) Two-way attenuation: ≤0.5dB

2.2Type, structure index

1) Radome type: Randomly divided and intercepted sandwich type.

2) Radome diameter: 4.5m, interception ratio 90%, weight no more than 600Kg.

3) Radome color: white

4) Accuracy requirements: The geometrical deviation of the diameter and height of the truncated radome should not exceed 2/1000. When there is no wind load, the vertical deviation between the center of the cover and the center of the ground base should not exceed 9/1000.

5) Appearance quality: The inner and outer surfaces of the radome should be clean and flat, free from defects such as bumps, cracks, deformation, and other mechanical damage.


2.3 Material performance requirements
1) Mechanical properties of the plate:
a. The tensile strength of the plate panel is not less than 160MPa, and the tensile modulus of elasticity is not less than 12GPa;
b. The compressive strength of the plate panel is not less than 140MPa, and the compressive elastic modulus is not less than 12GPa;
c. The bending strength of the plate panel is not less than 220MPa, and the bending elastic modulus is not less than 11GPa.
 
2) The mechanical properties of the dome cover
a. Radome design load: 10990 N/m²
b. Radome lifting force: 2575 N
c. Radome horizontal force: 4377 N
3) Sealant
 a. Shear strength is not less than 0.8MPa;
b. The relative dielectric constant is less than 6.0, and the dielectric loss tangent is less than 0.2;
c. When the ambient temperature is 25ºC, the active period is greater than 8h; d. The indoor storage period is not less than 6 months;
e. Anti-aging ability: the aging cycle is not less than 5 years, and the performance index during the aging cycle is not less than the design requirements.
2.4Environmental requirements
1) Normal working temperature: -40ºC~+50ºC;
 2) Relative humidity: normal operation: 15%~100%;
3) Salt fog: The performance of the radome under the salt fog environment should not decrease during the preventive maintenance period.
4) Altitude: 3000m above sea level
5) Wind resistance: When the instantaneous wind speed is not more than 50m/s, the accuracy is guaranteed; when the instantaneous wind speed is not more than 60m/s, the cover is not damaged and the electrical performance is not significantly reduced.
6) Rainproof: The radome design and production process should have rainproof measures, and there should be no leakage during the preventive maintenance cycle.
7) Ice and snow load: the load of the radome is not less than 300Kg/m2;

2.5"Three-proof" performance
It has measures such as moisture proof, salt spray corrosion proof, mould proof and sand dust proof.
 2.6 Maintainability requirements
 1) Preventive maintenance interval: no less than 5 years.
 Service life: not less than 20 years, within the service life, its performance indicators should meet the design requirements.
