Albuterol sulfate is a short-acting agonist at β2-adrenergic receptors that is clinically used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). Albuterol sulfate exhibits bronchodilatory, anti-asthma, tocolytic, antioxidative, and anti-inflammatory activities. In vivo, Albuterol sulfate decreases carrageenan-induced inflammation and nociception, suppresses activity of myeloperoxidase, and increases activity of superoxide dismutase and levels of gluta.
