Naltrexone hydrochloride is a pharmacodynamic blocker of exogenous opioids. Naltrexone hydrochloride was developed by DuPont in 2001 and used in gradient detoxification program to reduce the relapse rate of opioid dependent patients after successful detoxification. Naltrexone hydrochloride is a new antagonist used in the treatment of opioid dependence. It has obvious withdrawal effect and plays an important role in the adjuvant treatment of preventing opioid dependence relapse after withdrawal.
