Disposable Collection Swab (Nylon-Flocked) is used for the collection of cell or microorganism samples from throat, nose, surface of an object, etc.
Description
Disposable Collection Swab (Nylon-Flocked) is a disposable swab flocked with nylon fibers. Vertical and dense nylon fibers increase the efficiency of cell specimens collection. The capillary action between the fibers creates a strong hydraulic pressure, which facilitates the absorption of the liquid sample and keeps the sample close to the swab surface for easy elution. This product can be used for bacteriological sample processing, virological cell culture, polymerase chain reaction and molecular diagnostic tests.
Method of Use
1.Open the package and take out the collection swab;
2.Specimen collection:
a) Throat swab: Tilt the head of the collected person back 70 degrees. Insert the swab into mouth, and swab the posterior pharynx and tonsillar areas. (Avoid the tongue.)
b) Nose swab: Tilt the head of the collected person back 70 degrees. While gently rotating the swab, insert swab into posterior wall of nasopharyngeal cavity (until resistance is met at turbinates). Rotate the swab several times against nasal wall. The collection can be repeated in other nostril using the same swab.
Step 3: Place tip of swab into the sampling tube and cut off the applicator tip. Seal it up immediately, and mark the sample information.
