Bee venom has inhibitory and killing effects on Gram-positive and negative bacteria. Some literature reports that melittin has inhibitory effects on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Salmonella typhi, Streptococcus, and Bacillus subtilis. Boil can not destroy the antibacterial effect of bee venom, bee venom can also enhance the antibacterial degree of sulfa and antibiotics.
 
Bee venom has immunosuppressive effects and its active ingredients are low-molecular compounds such as melittin and apamin. The immunosuppressive effects of these two peptides are due to the increased secretion of corticosteroids by the adrenal cortex. Bee venom can also significantly reduce the pathology of myocardial sclerosis, and can lower blood pressure, lower plasma cholesterol, apamine bee venom has anti-arrhythmia effect

1. Bee venom is used by some as a treatment for rheumatism and joint diseases due to its anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory properties. 
2. Bee Venom is also used to desensitize people allergic to insect stings. Bee venom therapy can also be delivered in the form of a balm although this may be less potent than using live bee stings. 
3. Bee venom can be found in numerous beauty products. It is believed to increase blood flow therefore plumping the applied area, producing collagen. This effect aids in smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
