Solid phase extraction (SPE) is a sample pretreatment technique for extraction, separation, and concentration. It is mainly used for sample pretreatment of standard compounds in a variety of food, agricultural and livestock products, environmental samples, and biological samples.

HLB has good recovery of non-polar to moderately polar acidic, neutral, and basic compounds and is particularly suitable for complex matrices such as blood, urine, and food.
