The substance in the solution, excited by the light irradiation, producs an effect of light absorption.
Each kind of substance has its wovn absorption spectrum distinct from others because of its absorption selectivity.
When a monochromatic light is transmitted through the solution, the light energy decreases as it is absorbed, in proportion to the concentration of the substance.
