Asico wood fire door usually made with fire-proof core, fire over layer and face veneer/HPL. Available in UL/WHI rating, is suitable for room and corridor partition opening where fire rated doors are required.

Flush wood doors have a smooth surface with the core framing of the door covered by two or three layers of "ply" on either side that form the skin over the core and frame. Usually ASICO provides 5-Ply wood fire doors.

What is the 5-Ply wood fire door?

Take a wooden fire door with 20mins fire rating, the filling is particleboard core, cross bands are bonded to the core using a hot press. As the name implies, 5-Ply is a fire door with 5 layer.

The outermost ply is the HPL. HPL has strong scratch, resistant to stains and easy to clean. Compared with wood veneer, the price more economic.

The closest to the fire proof filling is crossband. Crossbands are applied to prevent telegraphing of the stile and rail through the face material and provide stability to the door. will not show through on light veneers due to their extremely flat surface.
