Parameters

At Eurosatory 2012 Defence Exhibition which was held in Paris in June 2012, the Chinese defence Company Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing has introduced a new 4x4 armoured vehicle personnel carrier (APC) for the international market, the Tiger. The Tiger uses a 4x4 cross-country truck chassis which provides high mobility in all-terrain conditions. The Tiger APC has a crew of 2, which consists of the commander and driver, and can carry 9 fully equipped infantrymen. The vehicle has already undergone extensive off-road tests, and has shown great mobility on all terrains and in all-weather conditions. The vehicle has shown effective protection against firing of Type 56 Chinese 7.62mm caliber machine gun. During these firing tests the CEO of the Company Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing, Mister Wang Bao Ho was inside the vehicle.

Technical Data
Armament
A small open top circular turret is mounted on the front of the crew compartment. The gunner position is fitted with a two-pieces hatch which opens on each side and provides a protection when the onboard armament is used. The turret can be armed with a 7.62mm, 12.7mm machine gun or 30mm automatic grenade launcher. The front side of the turret is also protected by one armour plate.
Design and protection
The layout of the Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles 4x4 Tiger is conventional with the engine at the front, the crew cabin in the middle and infantrymen compartment at the rear. To the rear of the commander and driver positions are the seats, with three individual seats and one bench seat that run along either side of the hull. The front of the crew cabin is fitted with two large bulletproof windows. The commander and the driver have a single-piece cover that opens to the rear. There are two single doors on each side of the hull, with one small bullet-proof window. A large door is provided in the rear of the hull which opens to the right. Over the top of the troop compartment are two roof hatches that open outwards. In either side of the rear troop compartment are two bulletproof windows with a firing port below, which allow some of the troops to fire their weapons from within the vehicle. The all-welded steel armour of the Tiger 4x4 provides a protection on the front against 7.62mm piercing bullets of Type 53 assault rifle and 7.62 mm bullet on side at 100m.
Propulsion
The Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles 4x4 Tiger is motorized with a Cummins ISDE200-30 Diesel engine developing 200 hp. at 2,700 RPM. The Tiger can run at a maximum road speed of 110 km/h with a maximum operational range of 600 km. The vehicle can climb 60% slope fully-loaded and cross a water depth of 800 mm without preparation and 1.2 m with preparation.
Accessories
A self-recovery winch is fitted at the front of the vehicle and one spare wheel is mounted at the rear of the infantrymen compartment. In option, the Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles 4x4 Tiger can be equipped with data transmission systems, searchlights, camera, night vision equipment, and various types of communications equipment.
